3.2.4 8x2.5” Hot-swap SAS/SATA/NVMe Data Cable Guide
The backside (Cable connector side) of the standard 8x2.5” combo backplane (iPC - AUP8X25S3NVDK) includes two 4-port 8643 Mini-SAS HD
data connectors (Ports 0 – 3 & Ports 4 – 7) for SAS/SATA support, and eight PCIe* OCuLink connectors for NVMe support (one connector for each
PCIe NVMe SFF drive). Each OCuLink connector is labeled with a Drive ID (0 – 7) which corresponds to a matching drive interface connector on
the front side (drive interface side) of the backplane.
The OCuLink cable kits: iPC - AXXCBL450CVCR (MB to HSBP OCuLink cable kit) and iPC - AXXCBL625CVCX (4P switch OCuLink cable kit), must
be ordered separately.
Note: on the Intel® Server Chassis (iPC - P4304XXMFEN2 and iPC - P4304XXMUXX) up to four NVMe Drives are supported.
