3.2.6.2 16x2.5” Hot Swap SAS/SATA Data Cable Guide (with SAS expander)
Drive configurations consisting of more than 8 drives may require the addition of a SAS Expander card. In a 16x2.5” system configuration, the
SAS expander RES3FV288 must be installed in any available PCIe add-in slot, or when using RES3TV360, the card must be installed between the
system fans and the backplane of the storage drive bays. The following table lists the features of both expanders:
Note: The onboard SATA ports are not compatible with SAS Expander cards. The onboard SATA ports can be cabled directly to a specified
backplane or drive only
