offerspulsedoseonly,theoxygenpuritycanbe
checkedwithahandheldoxygenanalyzer .
Oxygenpurityshouldbecheckedannually,or
betweenpatients,orevery4,320hours,whichever
comesrst.
1.ConnectanoxygencannulatothepatientoutletportD.
2.TurntheunitOn.
3.PresstheowselectionbuttonAtoincreasetheow
tosettingP4.
4.Enterautopulsemodebysimultaneouslypressingand
holdingthedisplaybacklightbuttonBandaudiooff
(mute)buttonCuntilP4appearsonthedisplayscreen.
Theoxygenconcentratormustbeoutofthe
warmupphasetoenterautopulsemode.
15secondsafterexitingthewarmupphase,
a“NoBreathDetected”alarmwilloccurif
autopulsemodeisnotenteredcorrectly.Ifthis
occurs,repeatstep3.
Theunitwillremaininauto-pulsemodeuntil
owsettingischangedorunitisturnedoff.
5.Connectastandardhandheldoxygenanalyzertothe
oxygencannula.
6.Followthedirectionsprovidedbytheanalyzer
manufacturer.Someanalyzerswillalsomeasureow
andpressure,butonlyifconnectedtoacontinuous
owofoxygen(sotheseoptionsarenotusableonthis
pulseonlyunit).
Theoxygenpurityreadingmayuctuateslightly
duetothepulseow.Itisrecommendedthat
yourecordahighandalowovera60second
timeperiod.
7.Theoxygenconcentratorisfunctioningproperlywhen
theoxygenpuritylevelis87%oraboveafterave
minutewarm-upperiod.
8.Ifoxygenpuritylevelis87%orless,checktheairintake
lterscreenandcleanifnecessary.Ifstillgettingan
oxygenpuritylevellessthan87%,contactInvacarefor
service.
