Expansion vessel
A plastic expansion vessel is connected to the heat
pump heat transfer fluid circuit. The fluid level in
the vessel must not fall below 1/3 (the vessel is
mounted outside the heat pump).
At low fluid level: With the pump working,
remove the lid to the valve at the top of the vessel
and open the valve. Then fill with antifreeze (29
per cent ethanol by volume and 71 per cent water
by volume) to 2/3. The easiest way to do this is
using a watering can. Shut the valve and put the lid
back on.
Particle filter
The particle filter is connected to the heat pump’s
cold side outside the heat pump and protects the
heat exchanger from dirt. Sometimes these filters
may get clogged and cause malfunctions.
To clean the filter: Shut down the heat pump with
the on/off button on the control panel. Close the
valve and unscrew the sealing cover. Check for
dirt in the filter. If necessary, remove the circlip
retaining the filter. The simplest way to do this is
by using pliers. Remove the filter and flush it
clean with water. Refit the filter, circlip and cover.
Open the valve and start the heat pump.
