Track Motor Relief Valve
Make sure that the hydraulic oil is at correct working
temperature (50 °C, 122 °F).
Remove the engine cover (if fitted) K
Engine
Cover ( T B-1) and move the engine back on its mounting
to gain access K Engine Mounting ( T K-3).
Note: Only one motor should be checked at a time
otherwise excessive pressure will be generated in the
system and the engine will stall.
On early machines, disconnect the return hose from the
LH track motor and refit using a tee piece and pressure test
point D. Later machines may already be fitted with a test
point.
Note: On early machines the test point may be left on the
machine permanently.
Disconnect the forward feed hose from the LH motor and
plug the end of the hose.
Connect a 0 - 400 bar (0 - 6000 lb/in
2
, 0 - 422 kg/cm
2
)
pressure gauge to the test point D.
With the engine running at maximum speed, check the
relief valve setting by operating the LH forward track lever
and noting the maximum gauge reading. The maximum
pressure should be as stated in K
Technical
Data ( T E-1).
If the pressure is incorrect, slacken the lock nut on the
relief valve and turn the adjusting screw clockwise to
increase the pressure or anti-clockwise to decrease the
pressure. Tighten the lock nut and re-check the pressure.
Reconnect the LH motor feed hose and remove the
pressure gauge.
Repeat the procedure for the RH motor using test point E.
Move the engine back into its correct position K
Engine
Mounting ( T K-3) and refit the engine cover K Engine
Cover ( T B-1).
