Track Maintenance
Track Rollers

Roller - Removal and Replacement
Removing
1 Raise the machine and fit suitable supports under the
machine lower structure. If necessary release the
track tension to allow the track to drop clear of the
rollers K
Track Adjustment ( T J-4)
2 Support the roller assembly. Remove bolts A and
washers B from each side of the roller and lower the
roller assembly from the machine.
3 Fit the bolts and washers loosely to the roller shaft
and transfer the assembly to a clean working area.
4 Check that the roller diameter, at the outer edges, and
the guide width are within permitted limits. Renew the
complete roller assembly if necessary.
Replacing
1 Remove bolts A and washers B from the roller shaft.
2 Fit the roller assembly into the undercarriage frame.
Support the assembly in position.
3 Fit the bolts A and washers B to each side and tighten
the bolts.
4 Lower the machine onto the track. Check the track
tension and adjust if necessary K

Adjustment ( T J-4)
Roller - Dismantling and Assembly
Dismantling
1 Remove bolts A and washers B from each side of the
roller shaft.
2 Remove circlip C and lift out washer D. Prise out the
oil seal E and discard. Repeat at the other end of the
roller.
3 Remove circlip F and push out shaft G from the roller
H.
4 Press out bearings J from the roller H. Renew the
bearings if worn or damaged.
Assembly
1 Press new bearings J fully into the roller H.
2 Fit one circlip F to shaft G and push the shaft into the
bearings until the circlip contacts one of the bearings.
Fit the other circlip F.
3 Push new oil seal E into one end of the roller, fit
washer D and secure with circlip C.
4 Turn the roller on its side with the fitted oil seal at the
bottom. Fill the roller cavity with the correct grade of
oil K
Lubricants and Capacities ( T 3-8)
5 Fit the other oil seal E, washer D and circlip C. Check
that the roller rotates freely.
6 Loosely assemble bolts A and washers B onto the
roller shaft.
