Installation
Installing a 4 in. pleated panel (pre)
lters
These instructions are for installing 4 in. panel lters into
type-8 holding frames.
Latches needed for these applications are four clips as
indicated in the table on page 30.
Install a single latch at each of the four corners of the
frame.
The latch ts into the set of knockouts, which consists
of two rows of three knockouts. Use the row of knock-
outs closest to the gasketing for lters with a 13/16
in. single header in combination with a nominal 2 in.
prelter. Use the second set of knockouts for nominal
4 in. lters.
Installing spring latches
1. Insert the straight end of the latch between the two
knockouts furthest from the corner.
2. Using a moderate amount of pressure, force the latch
over the third knockout. Repeat the installation process
with the remaining latches.
3. Insert the lter into the frame making sure that the
pleats are vertical.
4. After the lter has been placed into the frame, grasp
the loose end of the latch and place it over the lter
frame, so that the latch secures the lter into the
frame.
5. Repeat for the remaining latches.
6. Ensure the lter is securely installed into the frame.
Installing latches
1. Insert the straight end of the latch between the two
knockouts furthest from the corner.
2. Using a moderate amount of pressure, force the latch
over the third knockout.
3. After installing the latch correctly, the latch is trapped
within the three knockouts but can freely rotate.
Repeat the installation process with the remaining
latches.
4. Rotate all of the latches outward, and insert the SH
lter into the frame. Insert the bulk of the lter through
the frame, protruding out the backside. Ensure only
the header of the lter is contacting the ange of the
frame.
5. After the lter has been placed into the frame, grasp
the circular end of the latch and rotate it across the
corner of the lter.
6. Push the end of the latch towards the lter, until the
latch catches beneath the knockout on the frame. Re-
peat for the remaining latches.
7. Ensure the lter is securely installed into the frame
Installing a rigid DH double-
headered lter
These instructions are for installing a rigid DH double-
headered lter (nominal 12 in. deep double header) into a
type-8 holding frame.
The latches needed for this application are four clips.
See Filter latches.
Attach two latches on each side of the frame.
Only install the latches, two each side of the frame. Do
not use latches on the top or bottom. This is done to
match the holes in the lter frame, used to secure the
latch to the lter. See Figure 42 for the sets of knock-
outs to use for the latches.
