INSTALLATION AND PREDELIVERY
FUEL AND OIL PRIMING
Fuel System Priming
Use the primer to fill the outboard’s fuel system.
Once the fuel system has filled, pressurize the
fuel supply hoses by squeezing the fuel primer
bulb or momentarily activating the boat-mounted
electric fuel primer.
Observe all fuel lines, both in the boat and on the
outboard. Repair any fuel leaks.
Oil Requirements
IMPORTANT: Failure to follow these recom-
mendations could void the outboard warranty if a
lubrication-related failure occurs.
Evinrude/Johnson XD30 outboard oil is recom-
mended for use in Johnson 2-Stroke outboards.
If XD30 oil is not available, you must use an oil
that meets NMMA TC-W3 certification.
Engine Lubricant Below 32°F (0°C)
If the outboard will be operated in temperatures
below freezing (32°F, 0°C), use Evinrude/Johnson
XD100.
Break-In Oiling
These models require 50:1 (2% oil) fuel/oil ratio
during normal operation and a 25:1 (4% oil) fuel/
oil ratio during break-in.
WARNING
Failure to check for fuel leaks could allow a
leak to go undetected, resulting in fire or
explosion and may cause personal injury
or property damage.
