Press the PTT key to talk. 
The TX and ON marks appear on the screen to 
show the equipment is transmitting. Releasing the 
PTT key returns it to receiving.   
Pressing the PTT key turns on the power 
to the PA automatically.

Set a frequency the station to be called is monitoring.

Press the PTT key, check that TX and ON are displayed and make a call as described 
below.  
  Say the name of the station being called ... Repeat 3 times.   
  Say "This is..."   
  Say own ship name ... Repeat 3 times. 
  If necessary, indicate your working frequency.

Release the PTT key to listen.

Start communicating according to the response. When changing frequencies, make 
sure that no other stations are using the indicated working channel.   
 
 
-  When transmitting from your own station, always press the PTT key while talking. 
-  On a simplex channel, always say "over" just before releasing the PTT key. 
-  Always say "out" when terminating communications.
