Patchwork piecing
To sew pieces of cloth together is called piecing in patchwork. When piecing, the seam allowance is usually 1/4" (6.4 mm).

Cut the fabric with seam allowance.

Align the right end of the presser foot and the edge of the fabric and sew.
The needle will enter 1/4" (6.4 mm) from the edge of the fabric, so the seam allowance of
1/4" (6.4 mm) can be sewn.

The needle position can be adjusted between 0.0~7.0.
When the needle position is at ‘5.6’, the needle is 1/4" (6.4 mm) from the right edge of standard presser foot (A).
