6 Description of maintenance and servicing jobs
QwW The welding of load-bearing parts of the industrial truck, such as the frame
and mast, for example, is only permissible after consultation with the
manufacturer.
6.1 Preparing the industrial truck for maintenance and servicing
All necessary safety measures must be taken to prevent accidents during
maintenance and servicing. The following conditions must be established:
– Switch off and secure the industrial truck
(see "Switching off and securing the vehicle" in Chapter E).
– On a vehicle with an adjustable tiller (1, o), release the locking lever (2) or push
the tiller into the upper braking area B.
– Turn the switch latch (3) to position "0" and remove the key.
– Pull out the battery connector to prevent the truck being started up accidentally.
QwW When working on the industrial truck in a raised position, it must be secured
in such a way that it cannot fall, tip or slide. When lifting the truck you must
follow the instructions set out in "Transportation and commissioning".
If you are working on the parking brake, secure the truck to prevent it rolling
away accidentally.
