3. Decide whether the FRU end of the switch or the port end is to be placed at the front of the rack.
For airow in (AFI) installaons, posion the switch with the blue components next to the cold aisle
and for airow out (AFO) installaons, posion the switch with the red components next to the hot
aisle.
4. Align the holes in the front mounng bracket with the holes on the side of the chassis so that the
bracket is ush with the port panel. See Figure 39 on page 103.

5. Using a Phillips screwdriver, aach the front mounng bracket to the switch using four of the at
head screws in the holes closest to the port panel. Tighten the screws.
6. Repeat Steps 4 and 5 on the opposite side of the switch.
7. Align the holes in the adjustable mounng rail with the remaining holes in the chassis. The
alignment should permit two screws at mid-chassis and four screws nearest the power supplies.
The adjustable blades t standard racks between 22.05 in. (56 cm) to 29.5 in. (75 cm).
8. Aach the adjustable mounng rail to the chassis using the Phillips screwdriver and six of the at
head screws. Tighten the screws. See Figure 40 on page 103.

9. Repeat Steps 7 and 8 on the opposite side of the switch.
10. Have one person grasp both sides of the unit, li it, and posion it in the rack so that the front
mounng bracket is aligned with the rack holes.
