6.2 Suspension
Tighten the axle mounting screws
Tigthen the front axle mounting screws
1 Loosen each mounting nut (A) slightly.
There are eight mounting nuts in the axle.
2 Tighten each mounting nut (A) to 285 Nm (210 ft-lbs).
Tigthen the rear axle mounting screws
1 Loosen each mounting nut (A) slightly.
There are 8 mounting nuts in the axle.
2 Starting with the front outside nut, use a crossing pattern to
loosely tighten all four nuts. Tighten so the clamp plate makes
even contact with the bottom axle.
3 Starting with the front outside nut, use a crossing pattern to
tighten the nut in two even steps to the final torque 610 Nm
(450 ft-lbs).
Tighten the front spring mounting screws
1 Loosen each mounting nut (A).
2 Tighten each mounting nut (A) to 610 Nm (450 ft-lbs).
NOTE
Tighten the mounting nuts after the machine is complete, (i.e.
engine/transmission and cab are installed) and springs have settled
to final ride height.
3 Loosen each mounting nut (B).
4 Tighten each mounting nut (B) until the nut touches the side
plate. Do not bend the side plates.
