Connections
Connections for an expanded system are shown in Figure 9-1. As shown, one unit
is optionally connected to the PC using the GPIB or RS-232 interface. Details on
these PC communication connections are covered in
Section 2.
As shown in Figure 9-1, all the units in the system are daisy-chained together
using LAN crossover cables.

NOTE The PC is not needed for
stand-alone systems.
Initialization
Before a TSP-Link system can be used, it must be initialized. For initialization to
succeed, each instrument in a TSP-Link system must be assigned a different
node number.
Assigning node numbers
At the factory, each Series 2600 instrument is assigned as Node 1. The node
number for each unit is stored in its non-volatile memory and will not be lost when
the instrument is turned off.
