4. SECONDARY RECTIFIER CARD Z003
• The circuit of Z003 is a full wave rectifier. It rectifies the secondary current. There are (8+8) diodes (V1-V16) in parallel
in the unit
• Capacitors (C1-C4) and resistors (R2, R4, R6, R8) form a snubber circuit. The snubber reduces the voltage stress of the
diodes after the reverse recovery current snaps off (The voltage stress is caused by leakage inductance and stray ca-
pacitance oscillation)
• Capacitor C5, diode V17 and resistors (R9 and R10) form a filter circuit which reduces open circuit voltage ripple. Filter
circuit is needed for controlling open circuit voltage
• Varistors (R1, R3, R5, R7) are for TIG ignition spark protection
