System malfunction
A: Check Intelligent Front-Lighting
System (IFS)
When Intelligent Front-Lighting System
is not working properly, the warning
message will come on for a few second
on the cluster. After the message disap
-
pears, the warning lights AFS will illumi -
nate. We recommend that you have your
vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia
dealer/service partner.

Intelligent Front-Lighting System
(IFS) disabled. Camera obscured
When the front view camera is covered
with dirt, snow, or debris, Intelligent
Front-Lighting System may temporarily
not work properly. If this occurs, a warn
-
ing message will appear on the cluster.
The system will operate normally when
such dirt, snow or debris is removed.
Intelligent Front-Lighting System may
not properly operate in an area (e.g.
open terrain) where any objects or vehi
-
cles are not detected after turning on
the vehicle.
Also, even though a warning message
does not appear on the cluster, the sys
-
tem may not properly operate.
Limitations of the system
Intelligent Front-Lighting System may
not work properly in the following situa
-
tions.
僅 Light from a vehicle is not detected
because of lamp damage, or because
it is hidden from sight, etc.
僅 Headlamp of a vehicle is covered with
dust, snow or water.
僅 There is a lamp that has a similar
shape as a vehicle's lamp.
僅 A vehicle's headlamps are off but the
fog lamps are on and etc.
僅 Headlamps have been damaged or
not repaired properly.
僅 Headlamps are not aimed properly.
僅 Driving on a narrow curved road,
rough road, uphill or downhill.
僅 Vehicle in front is partially visible on a
crossroad or curved road.
僅 There is a traffic light, reflecting sign,
flashing sign or mirror ahead.
僅 There is a temporary reflector or flash
ahead (construction area).
僅 The road conditions are bad such as
being wet, iced or covered with snow.
僅 A vehicle suddenly appears from a
curve.
僅 The vehicle is tilted from a flat tire or
is being towed.
僅 There are many street lights or the
ambient light is bright.
僅 Light from a vehicle is not detected
because of exhaust fume, smoke, fog,
snow, etc.
