11.1 Additional information
Any further work that results from the compulsory work or from the recommended work must be ordered sepa-
rately and invoiced separately.
Different service intervals may apply in your country, depending on the local operating conditions.
Individual service intervals and scopes may change in the course of technical developments. The most up-to-date
service schedule can always be found on KTM Dealer.net. Your authorized KTM dealer will be happy to advise
you.
11.2 Required work
every 24 months
every 12 months
every 30,000 km (18,600 mi)
every 15,000 km (9,300 mi)
after 1,000 km (620 mi)
Read out the fault memory using the KTM diagnostics tool.
Check the exhaust valve control unit with the KTM diagnostics tool.
Program the shift shaft sensor.
Check that the electrical system is functioning properly.
Change the engine oil and the oil filter, clean the oil screens. ( p. 148)
Check the front brake linings. ( p. 118)
Check the brake linings of the rear brake. ( p. 121)
Check the brake discs. ( p. 116)
Check the brake lines for damage and leakage.
Change the front brake fluid.
Change the rear brake fluid.
Change the hydraulic clutch fluid.
Check the front brake fluid level. ( p. 117)
Check the rear brake fluid level. ( p. 119)
Check/correct the fluid level of hydraulic clutch. ( p. 113)
Check the shock absorber and fork for leaks. Perform service as needed and depending
on how the vehicle is used.
Clean dust boots of the fork legs. ( p. 101)
Check the steering head bearing for play.
Check tire condition. ( p. 128)
Check tire pressure. ( p. 130)
Check the chain, rear sprocket, engine sprocket, and chain guide. ( p. 112)
Check the chain tension. ( p. 110)
Measure the wheel bearing play and grease the rear hub.
Check that the rear wheel nut (right side) is tightened to the specified torque.
Check that the exhaust clamps have the prescribed tightening torque.
Check the exhaust system for leaks.
Change the spark plugs (air filter removed).
Check the valve clearance (air filter and spark plugs removed).
Change the SAS membrane.
Check the cables for damage and routing without sharp bends (fuel tank removed).
Check the coolant level in the compensating tank. ( p. 144)
