PINION GEAR BEARING AND SHIM
REPLACEMENT
Pull the pinion bearing from the shaft with a
commercially available bearing puller.
Remove the pinion shim.
Install the shim and bearing onto the pinion
gear.
.
Drive the bearing with the marked side
facing up.
When the gear set, ring gear bearing,
and/or gear case has been replaced, use a
2 mm (0.08 in) thick shim for initial
reference.
