Selecting a Message Language
The printer has a multi-lingual message display which can be set to English, German,
French, Italian, Dutch, Spanish, or Portuguese. The default message language for the
printer’s message display is Engl is h. To ch an ge th e m es sa ge l an gu ag e t o a not he r, f ol lo w t he
instructions below.

While pressing the ENTER key, turn the
power switch ON ( I ). Keep pressing the
ENTER key until the Please wait mes-
sage is displayed (approximately 1
minute). The message display should
indicate Self test.

When the message display shows
Please wait, release the ENTER key.

The message display indication changes
to that shown on the right and ? flashes.

Press the
or
key repeatedly until
the message display shows the desired
language and then press the ENTER key.
If you do not wish to change the setting,
press the CANCEL key.

The READY indicator on the operator
panel lights up and the printer gets ready
to print.
The message language can also be
changed in the mode select menu of the
printer. Refer to the
Operation Guide
in
the CD-ROM supplied with the printer, if
necessary. If you require another lan-
guage, contact your dealer for a compre-
hensive list of major languages available
for download.
