Prepare a chlorine solution using 1/4 cup of bleach (5% sodium
hypochlorite solution) to 1 gallon of water. Prepare one gallon of this
solution for each 15 gallon capacity of the tank. As designed and
constructed, this method will sanitize the plumbing system.
Chlorine smell and taste may not be pleasant. To remove any
excess chlorine taste or odor, prepare a solution of one quart
vinegar to 5 gallons of water and allow this solution to remain in tank
for 3 hours. Operate pump to circulate thru system and drain and
flush entire system with fresh water.
5. Its getting cold, winter is coming and you MUST winterize your
coach to avoid frozen lines along with the water heater. Place valves
as shown in #5. You can now by pass the water heater, use
siphon hose as in #4, to place antifreeze into lines. See complete
section on winterization on page 57.
FILLING FRESH WATER SYSTEM—SIDE WINDER
C—Is where you attach a garden hose from a good known water
source to fill both supply tank and water lines, referred to as “city
water” fill.
W—is where you attach a short hose, 5-6 feet long with a male
connector. This is the hose to use to winterize or sanitize your water
system.
1. To fill tank, turn BLUE knob to vertical position (down) T, white
knob and red knob (normal) to normal position.
2. Open supply faucet from garden hose to fill tank. You cannot
visually see tank being filled, so use monitor panel as your guide.
Tank also has an overflow/vent line but is much smaller than fill
hose. When water begins to come out of overflow line, shut off
IMMEDIATELY.
Excessive pressure from water supply systems may be encountered in
some parks, especially in mountain regions. Water pressure regulators are
available to protect your system against such high pressure. A regulator at
45 pound rating is recommended to prevent damage to the plumbing sys-
tem or components.
