TERM DEFINITION
Ballast
Weight added to the tractor to increase stability such as
weight plates added to the front of the tractor, wheel
weights, or adding uid to the tires.
Blade Carrier
The metal bar connected to the main shaft to which
both cutting blades are bolted.
Counter
Clockwise
In the opposite direction to the way in which the hands
of a clock move around.
Fasteners A device that closes or secures something
FEL Tractors A tractor that is equipped with a front end loader.
Hydraulic
Hoses
Conveys hydraulic uid to or between hydraulic
components. Components include valves, tools, and
actuators. Hydraulic hose is usually exible and
reinforced. Hose is often made up of several layers of
reinforcement.

Loader
A loader is a type of tractor, usually wheeled, sometimes
on tracks, that has two front-mounted booms (arms)
capable of attaching to dierent pieces of equipment
such as a bucket or the Lane Shark.
Oset Positioned to the right hand side of the tractor.
PTO Speed
RPM range designated on the tractor’s tachometer to
achieve 540 PTO Speed. This is the minimum engine
speed recommended to operate the Lane Shark.
QR Code
A machine-readable code consisting of an array of
black and white squares, typically used for storing URLs
or other information for reading by the camera on a
smartphone.
ROPS Roll-Over Protection Structure
SSQA
Skid Steer Quick Attach; A type of quick attach system
for quickly removing or attaching implements to a front
end loader.
Sump The internal hydraulic uid reservoir for the
tractor’s hydraulic system.
