FUEL MANAGEMENT
For flight planning, use only TOTAL pound indication on the fuel quantity
gage.
Do
not
use separate tank indications for this purpose. The
fuel
quan-
tity indicating system
is
set
to
indicate properly in level
flight.
The red LOW FUEL warning light
on
the glareshield annunciator panel
will
illuminate when the
fuel
level in either wing tank
is
approximately
400-500
pounds.
The
amber FUEL XFLO light
(if
installed)
on
the glareshield annunciator
panel
will
be illuminated whenever the crossflow valve
is
open.
The
cross-
flow
valve
will
be
open
during wing
to
wing transfer, wing to fuselage trans-
fer,
or
fuselage to wing transfer.
Steady illumination of any of
the
amber
fuel
system valve lights
on
the
fuel
control panel, except
fuel
jettison valve lights, indicates the corresponding
valves
are
not in the position selected. Momentary illumination while
the
corresponding valve
is
in transit after switching modes indicates proper op-
eration.
On aircraft incorporating SB 35/36-28-11, illumination of the annunciator
installed in either STANDBY
PUMP switch indicates power
is
applied to the
corresponding standby
fuel
pump
(regardless of switch position). It
is
normal
for the annunciators
to
illuminate during starter-assisted starts, fuselage tank
ALL operations and whenever the STANDBY
PUMP switch
is
ON.
The
fuel control panel
on
the
pedestal contains
all
the necessary switches
and indicators
to
fuel
the
aircraft and maintain proper
fuel
management.
