AUDIO
CONTROL SYSTEM PANEL
The
audio control system panels provide a
means
of controlling communi-
cations
and/or
navigation audio information being received
or
transmitted.
The
panel also controls audio communication within the cabin.
SWITCH FUNCTION
VOLUME CONTROLS
1. MASTER VOL - This control regulates
the
volume level of all
audio
input
except sidetone audio, PASS SPKR audio, aural warn-
ing signals,
and
microphone
or
headphone
audio
when
the
SPKR/
PHONE-PH-EMER switch is
in
the
EMER position.
2.
PASS SPKR
VOL
- This control regulates the volume level of
the
ADF in
the
cockpit speaker
when
the
ADF switch is in the PASS
position
and
the
PASS SPKR-VOL ADJ-DFF switch
is
in
the
OFF
or
VOL
ADJ
pOsition.
The
control also regulates
the
volume level of·
the
ADF in
the
passenger speakers
when
the PASS
SPKR
switch
is
in the PASS SPKR position. Additionally,
the
control regulates pas-
senger speaker volume while addressing passengers
when
the Mic
Function Selector
is
in
the
PASS SPKR position.
This
control does
not
affect headphone, aural warning,
or
microphone audio when
the
microphone is being used in
VHF
1
or
2,
HF,
or
INPH
on
the
Mic
Function Selector.
3.
Sidetone - Two small holes
are
provided
on
the
front
of
the
Audio
I Control Panel (Figure 2-4) for insertion
of
a screwdriver
to
adjust
speaker
and
phone
sidetone levels. Sidetone adjustments should
be
made
to
a cbmfortable level without acoustical feedback with
the
engines running. It
is
suggested
that
sidetone level
be
adjusted using
VHF
1.
This
will
simultaneously adjust sidetone for
VHF
2,
HF
(if
applicable),
and
INPH.
NOTE~
The
MASTER VOL
and
PASS SPKR VOL adjustments
-r
have
no
affect
on
sidetone volume.
4.
Aural Warning Volume - Two small holes are provided
on
the
I front of
the
Audio Control Panel (Rgure 2-4) for insertion of a
screwdriver
to
adjust speaker
and
phone
aural warning volume.
Aural warning volume adjustments should
be
made
with
the
engines
running.
