REISSUED 2-25-81, CHANGE 13
FUEL CMPTR LIGHT ILLUMINATED (CONT)
Affected Engine:
1. FUEL COMPTR Circuit Breaker (ess bus) — Check and reset if
necessary.
2. FUEL CMPTR Switch Cycle once. If fuel computer does not
come back on line, FUEL CMPTR Switch — OFF.
Fan Speed (N
1) must be 50% to 60% when switching
from Fuel Computer OFF to Fuel Computer On opera-
tion. This procedure prevents RPM droop caused by
rapid dropout of the manual mode governor and the lag
setup of the computer governor.
3. CROSSFLOW Switch — CLOSE.
4. FUS TANK Switches — As follows:
a. XFER-FILL Switch — OFF.
b. FUS VALVE Switch (if installed ) CLOSE.
5. STANDBY PUMP Switch — ON.
6. JET PUMP Switch — Off.
Use of the standby pump as the primary pump on the
engine with the inoperative fuel computer will prevent
fuel control pneumatic circuit icing by recirculating fuel
within the fuel control.
To crossflow or transfer fuel:
Monitor turbine (N2) and fan (N1) speed during fuel
transfer.
Before switching JET PUMP switch to ON, ensure
steady engine operation at 80% N
1 or above.
7. JET PUMP Switch (affected engine) — ON.
8. STANDBY PUMP Switch (affected engine) Off.
9. Crossflow or transfer fuel as required.
10. STANDBY PUMP Switch (affected engine) ON.
11. JET PUMP Switch (affected engine) — Off.
ENG CHIP LIGHT ILLUMINATED
Illumination of either the LH or RH ENG CHIP light (if installed) indicates
the presence of metallic particles in the engine oil.
1. Engine Instruments — Monitor for indication of malfunction.
2. Investigate cause at earliest possible maintenance.
