To
ensure
proper
yaw damper operation,
the
BEFORE STARTING EN-
GINES yaw
damper
operational check in Section
IT
of this manual must
be
successfully completed before
each
flight.
I
One
yaw
damper
must
be
ON
and
operative for all flght conditions except
takeoff, landing touchdown, and for trimming rudder.
For
a norrnallanding,
the
following procedures
shall
apply:
1.
The
airplane
shall
be
configured for landing at least
500
feet
AGL.
2.
The
yaw
damper
shall
be
disengaged during the landing

If
landings are attempted in turbulent air conditions with
.,
the
yaw damper OFF,
the
airplane may exhibit undesir-
able Iateraklirectional
(Dutch-RoB)
characteristics.
These
characteristics
are
improved
as
the wing/tip
fuel
is consumed.
The
pilot
shall
observe the NOTE relative
to
turbulence contained in
the
APPROACH procedure
(Section m and increase airspeed as required.
Yaw damper should
be
turned off while using rudder
trim. Reengage yaw
damper
after trim
is
established.
SPOILER
Do
not
extend spoilers with flaps extended while airborne.
.
Do
not
extend spoilers,
or
.operate with spoilers deployed,
at
speeds above
VMO/MMO.
HYDRAUUC SYSTEM
Do
not
exceed auxiliary hydraulic
pump
duty cycle
of
3 minutes ON, then
20
minutes OFF.
Only hydraulic
fluid
conforming
to
MIL-H-5606 is approved.
GENERATOR
LIMITS
Generator output
is
limited
as
follows:
320
amps
maximum for ground operations.
400
amps
maximum for flight operations.
