'CAUTION

Fuel computer OFF airstarts should only be attempt-
ed when
fuel
computer ON operation
is
not
available.
Starter-assist airstarts may be used at any Turbine
Speed
(N2)
below 45%. Starter-assist airstarts must
be used when stabilized Turbine Speed
(N2)
is below
15%.
Maintaining an airspeed sufficient to maintain a sta-
bilized Turbine Speed
(N2)
of 15% or above
will
en-
hance airstart capability.
Affected Engine:
1.
Ensure that aircraft
is
within REUGHT ENVELOPE (below 20,000
feet) as shown in Figure 3-3, this section,
if
conditions permit.
2.
FUEL CMPTR Switch -
OFF.
3. Thrust Lever - CUTOFF. Wait 10 seconds to allow
fuel
to
drain
from engine.
4.
Fuel Supply - Check.
a. Fuel available from wing tank.
b.
ARE PULL or ENG ARE PULL T-Handle - Push in.
5. Fuel Panel Switches -
As
follows:
a. STANDBY PUMP Switch - ON.
b.
JET
PUMP Switch - Off.
c.
CROSSFLOW
Valve
- CLOSED.
d. FUS
TANK
XFER-FILL
Switch -
OFF.
e. FUS
VALVE
(if installed) - CLOSED.
6.
Electrical Load - Reduce.
7.
NAC HEAT Switch -
OFF.
8.
BLEED
AIR
Switch -
OFF.
9. START-GEN Switch -
START.
Starter engaged light
(if
installed)
will
illuminate.
10. Thrust Lever (at 10% Turbine Speed
[N2)
and indication of Fan
Speed
[NI)
rotation) -
IDLE.
11.
AIR
IGN
Light and FUEL FLOW - Check.
12. Turbine Temp
(ITT)
- Check rise within
10
seconds.

Thrust Lever

abort start.
If engine accelerates above 80% Fan Speed

Thrust Lever
