Smooth Setback Recovery (SSR)
The Smooth Setback Recovery (SSR) feature ensures a
smooth transition to a target program schedule setpoint. The
SSR looks 2 hours (maximum recovery time) ahead for the
target program schedule period’s set point. If the current pro-
gram set point is below the target heat set point or above the
target cool set point, the SSR will calculate a new set point
that is between the current and the target. Once initiated, the
SSR will calculate a new set point every 30 seconds. Heating
and cooling demands will be based on the SSR set points,
rather than the current program or target program set points.
The SSR set point will be displayed on the thermostat. The
SSR set point calculation is as follows:

Where: CSP = Cool Set Point
HSP = Heat Set Point
N = number of 30 second intervals to the target program set
point
Note: N = 240 when target program set point is 2 hours away
(maximum recovery time)
Rules for SSR:
1. SSR is enabled when both Smooth Setback Recovery"
is set to enabled (default) and the program schedule is
turned on.
2. SSR does NOT turn off stage delay timers.
3. SSR will NOT change the dead band between heating
and cooling modes.
4. SSR will not overshoot the target set point.
5. SSR will reset if the user updates the program schedule
during the active SSR period.
