–Afterinstallingthenewoperationsystem,youshouldnotchangetheinitialUEFI/LegacyBootsetting
inThinkPadSetup.TheUEFI/LegacyBootsettingmustbethesameasitwaswhentheWindows
operatingsystemimagewasinstalled.Otherwise,thenewoperatingsystemwillnotbootproperly.
–BeforeyouupgradeyouroperatingsystemfromWindows7toWindows8,ordowngradeyour
operatingsystemfromWindows8toWindows7,youneedtoupdateyourUEFIBIOStothe
versionthattstheoperatingsystemyouaregoingtoinstall.ToupdateyourUEFIBIOS,goto

5.PressF10.
6.InserttheWindows7operatingsysteminstallationDVDintotheDVDdrive,andrestartthecomputer.
7.RestoreC:\SWTOOLSfromthebackupcopyyoumadebeforestartingtheinstallation.
8.InstalltheIntelChipsetSupportforWindows2000/XP/Vista/7.Todothis,runSetup.exein
C:\SWTOOLS\DRIVERS\INTELINF\innst_autol.
9.InstallThinkPadAMDSMBusDriverforWindows7andThinkPadAMDSATAControllerDriverfor
Windows7.
