Problem:Theexternalmonitorisblank.
Solution:Tobringuptheimage,pressFn+F7andselectthedesiredmonitor.Iftheproblempersists,
dothefollowing:
1.Connecttheexternalmonitortoanothercomputertomakesurethatitworks.
2.Reconnecttheexternalmonitortoyourcomputer.
3.Refertothemanualshippedwiththeexternalmonitortochecktheresolutionsandrefreshratesthatare
supported.
•Iftheexternalmonitorsupportsthesameresolutionasthecomputerdisplayorahigherresolution,
viewoutputontheexternalmonitororonboththeexternalmonitorandthecomputerdisplay.
•Iftheexternalmonitorsupportsalowerresolutionthanthecomputerdisplay,viewoutputonthe
externalmonitoronly.(Ifyouviewoutputonboththecomputerdisplayandtheexternalmonitor,the
externalmonitorscreenwillbeblankordistorted.)
Problem:Youcannotsetahigherresolutionthanthepresentoneonyourexternalmonitor.
Solution:
•Makesurethatthemonitorinformationiscorrect.Dothefollowing:
1.Right-clickonthedesktop,andclickScreenresolution.
Note:Ifyourcomputercannotdetecttheexternalmonitor,clicktheDetectbutton.
2.Clicktheiconforthedesiredmonitor(theMonitor-2iconisfortheexternalmonitor).
3.ClickAdvancedSettings.
4.ClicktheAdaptertab.
5.Makesurethatthecorrectdevicedrivernameisshownintheadapterinformationwindow.
Note:Thedevicedrivernamedependsonthevideochipthathasbeeninstalledonyourcomputer.
6.ClickOK.
Iftheinformationisincorrect,reinstallthedevicedriver.Seebelowformoreinformation.
•Checkthemonitortypeand,ifnecessary,updatethedriverbydoingthefollowing:
1.Connecttheexternalmonitortothemonitorconnector,andthenconnectthemonitortoanelectrical
outlet.
2.Turnontheexternalmonitorandthecomputer.
3.Right-clickonthedesktop,andclickScreenresolution.
Note:Ifyourcomputercannotdetecttheexternalmonitor,clicktheDetectbutton.
4.Clicktheiconforthedesiredmonitor(theMonitor-2iconisfortheexternalmonitor).
5.ClickAdvancedSettings.
6.ClicktheMonitortab.Checkthemonitorinformationwindowtomakesurethatthemonitortypeis
correct.Ifitis,clickOKtoclosethewindow;otherwisedothefollowing.
7.Ifmorethanonemonitortypeisdisplayed,selectGenericPnPMonitororGenericNon-PnP
Monitor.
8.ClickProperties.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministratorpasswordorconrmation,typethe
passwordorprovideconrmation.
9.ClicktheDrivertab.
