ThissectionprovidesinstructionsonhowtoinstallorreplaceaPCIcard.YourcomputerhasonePCIcard
slot,onePCIExpressx1cardslot,onePCIExpressx16graphicscardslot,andonePCIExpressx16
cardslot(negotiablelinkwidthx4,x1).
ToinstallorreplaceaPCIcard,dothefollowing:
1.Turnoffthecomputeranddisconnectallpowercordsfromelectricaloutlets.
2.Removethecomputercover.See“Removingthecomputercover”onpage32.
3.RotatethePCIcardretainertotheopenposition.
4.DependingonwhetheryouareinstallingorreplacingaPCIcard,dooneofthefollowing:
•IfyouareinstallingaPCIcard,removetheappropriatemetalslotcover.
•IfyouarereplacinganoldPCIcard,grasptheoldcardthatiscurrentlyinstalledandgentlypullit
outoftheslot.
