4. If the server is installed in a rack, reinstall the server into the rack.
5. Power on the server and any peripheral devices.
Remove a fan
Use this procedure to remove a fan.

Hazardous energy present. Voltages with hazardous energy might cause heating when shorted with
metal, which might result in spattered metal, burns, or both.
Before removing a fan:
1. Read the safety information and installation guidelines (see “Safety” on page iii and “Installation
Guidelines” on page 59).
2. If the server is installed in a rack, remove the server from the rack.
3. Remove the top cover (see “Remove the top cover” on page 146).
4. Remove the chassis air baffle (see “Remove the chassis air baffle” on page 65).
