Repeating ADF Jams. Paper
feeds into the ADF but does not
go all the way through.
Verify that the mylar feed strips are properly positioned on the ADF.
If the clear mylar strips are damaged, replace the ADF. See “ADF
assembly removal” on page 4-46.
Paper is feeding at an angle into
the ADF (X204) only.
Adjust the edge guides on the ADF input tray. These are detents for
he most common paper sizes. Slide the paper forward into the
feeder. If this des not fix the issue, check to ensure that the ADF
input tray is properly snapped into position.
Make sure that the ADF lid is properly closed, and that the separator
belt on the lid is not unevenly worn.
Check the separator roll to ensure that it is not unevenly worn. If it is
replace the separator roll.
Loud rattling, or abrasive sound
during paperfeed.
Check the auto comp spring for proper lubrication. Replace the
autocompensator clutch if needed.
