A comprehensive road test is vital to ensure that a perfect automobile is delivered to
each Lexus customer. We recommend that you map out a specific road test course
that includes a variety of road conditions including stop and go, highway speed and
rough road surfaces.
This will help you check for squeaks, rattles, drifts, pulls and a variety of other
conditions that must be corrected prior to delivery.
Note: Make sure protective covers are in place on the seats and
carpet prior to starting the road test.
F01. ENGINE IDLE SPEED
Check that the engine idle speed is
smooth at normal operating temper-
ature with the transmission in “N”
or “P” position.
F02. ENGINE OPERATION WHILE
DRIVING
a) Check engine performance over a
broad range of driving conditions
including acceleration, cruising and
deceleration.
b) Make sure engine operation is
smooth and responsive.
c) Make sure the gauges, speedom-
eter and tachometer operations
are smooth and accurate.
