F04. BRAKE HO LD FUNCTIO N
Hint: Perform the following
steps with the driver ’s door,
trunk lid and engine hood
closed and the seat belt fas-
tened.
a) Push the switch to turn the sys-
tem on and check that the “Brake
hold standby indicator” comes on.
b) Depress the brake pedal with the
shift lever in D, S or N until the
vehicle is stopped. Then check
that the “Brake hold operated in-
dicator” comes on and that the
vehicle remains stationary even
after the brake pedal is released.
c) Depress the accelerator pedal
with the shift lever in D or S and
check that the brake that remains
engaged will be released and that
the vehicle moves forward. Also
check that the “Brake hold oper-
ated indicator” goes off.
d) Push the switch to turn the sys-
tem o ff.
When the brake remains engaged
with the brake hold function, de-
press the brake pedal when push-
ing the switch to turn the system
off.
