D05. WASHER FLUID LEVEL
Open the washer tank cap and visu-
ally check the washer fluid level in
the washer tank. The fluid level
should be visible from top. Add fluid
if necessary.
D06. BATTERY TERM INAL
TIGHTNESS AND CHARGE
a) Check the electrolyte level. If the
electrolyte level is low, check the
battery case for leakage.
Note: Maintenance-free PANASON-
IC batteries can be replenished with
distilled water only.
b) Check the battery charge. Mea-
sure the open-circuit battery volt-
age between the terminals. If the
voltage reading is 12.2 volts or
less, recharge the battery on low
current of 5 amps or less.
Note: Before measuring the voltage,
select the engine switch in the “OFF”
mode and turn off all electrical sys-
tems. Wait 60 seconds or more to re-
move the surface charge.
If the engine was running before mea-
suring the voltage, wait 20 minutes or
more after the engine stops to remove
the surface charge.
c) Check that the battery terminals
are properly connected and that
the clamp is firml y install ed.
