F03. PARKING BRAKE
a) Manual set and release:
1. With the engine switch in
“IGïON” mode, push the
parking brake switch.
2. Check that the parking brake
indicator light comes on.
3. Pull the parking brake switch
while depressing the brake
pedal. Make sure that the
parking brake indicator light
goes off.
Note: Push and hold the parking
brake switch if an emergency oc-
curs and it is necessary to operate
the parking brake while driving.
b) Automatic set and release:
Note: The parking brake automati-
cally sets and releases.
1. With the engine switch in
“IGïON” mode, push the
“AUTO” switch.
2. When the shift lever is moved
out of P range, check that the
parking brake indicator light
goes off.
3. When the shift lever is moved
into P range, check that the
parking brake indicator light
comes on.
