Function Description
The primary function of the birthing bed is to provide lying, sitting, and supporting positions for women in labor. It also facilitates the CPR position. The bed is equipped with electrical linear motors for adjusting the back section, seat section, and bed height, which require no maintenance. The bed is not designed for permanent operation; motors can only be loaded up to the values defined on the label (2 minutes of operation followed by 18 minutes of standby). Exceeding this workload may result in automatic stop and require authorized service.

Usage Features
Control Panels:
- Side Rails with Electric Control Panel: Located on both sides of the bed, operated by trained personnel only. Features include:
- Lowering/lifting of back section
- Nurse Call button
- Toggle bed backlight on/off
- Movement stop
- Lock of all functions (LED toggles on when active)
- Power supply indicator
- Holding a specific button initiates setting the bed to anti-shock position.
- Manual CPR Setting: A red lever on both sides of the back section, marked with "CPR" text, allows for manual activation of the CPR function. The back section can be reset to its original position using motoric positioning via the hand control, side control panel, or side rail panel.
- Electric Trendelenburg Setting: An orange-marked controller on both sides of the back section. Pushing and holding the button positions the back section.
Bed Section Adjustments:
- Foot Section: Can be folded/unfolded, lifted/lowered, and tilted up/down. Adjustment is done by pressing the controller and turning the foot section towards/outwards the operator. It automatically locks in both positions. Before folding, ensure the foot section is in the lowest position and the back section is not in Trendelenburg position.
- Leg Rests: Undetachable leg rests can be used as feet support, in the Gynecologic position, and in the Horizontal position to maximize the bed surface.
- Gynaecological Position: Pull the "Turning the leg rest sideways" control lever and pull the leg rest to the desired position.
- Foot Rest Position: Similar to the Gynaecological position, pull the "Turning the leg rest sideways" control lever and position the leg rest straight.
- Maximum Bed Surface Position: Position leg rests horizontally along the sides of the foot section by pulling the "Turning the leg rest sideways" control lever and then the "Tilting of the leg rest" control lever.
- Turning Leg Rests Sideways: For better access to the birth mother, pull the control lever to turn the leg rests sideways (+60°).
- Leg Rest Tray Height Adjustment: In "Gynaecological position," pull the control lever to adjust the leg rest tray height.
- Head Rest: Comfort head rest supports the head and lumbar area, maintaining natural spinal curving. It also assists smaller patients in achieving optimal position on the edge of the seat section.
Accessories:
- PPB-067 Supporting Bar: Maximum weight load of 70 kg (154 lb) in all directions. It is not vertically locked and may be ejected upwards.
- Backlighting: Turned on/off by short pressing a button on the side control panel, controlled by personnel only.
- PPB-064 Eurolath along the Seat Section: Used for placing accessories like armrests, hand control, and infusion stands. Ensure no collisions with surrounding objects when the chair moves.
- PPB-060 Rear Bed-Head: A safety element and handle for the birth mother, automatically locked against movement. It can be removed by pushing the security button marked "PRESS" for anesthesiologist access. Not to be used for manipulating the bed during transport.
- PPB-069 Front Holder with Protective Elements: Maximum weight capacity 150 kg (330 lb). Accessories can be attached, and it serves as foot section protection. Includes two side bumpers.
- PPB-070 Upper Mattress (3.94 inch cushioning) & PPB-071 Upper Mattress (5.12 inch cushioning): Primarily used postpartum to increase mother's comfort.
Transport:
- The bed allows for patient transport. Before transport, disconnect and store power supply cables and other connections. Use the handle on the back section only. Do not transport with the bed in chair position to avoid injury or damage.
- Secure the front directional castor with the locking pedal; otherwise, two persons are needed for transport.
- Ensure patient and all equipment are safely placed within the bed's circumference.
- Set infusion stands to the lowest position.
- After transport, reconnect power and secure the bed with the central brake.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme external environments (snow, frost, rain).
- Transport the bed in its lowest position, avoiding areas with lateral inclination exceeding 5°.
- If transport is interrupted, secure the bed with the central brake.
- Maximum threshold crossing height is 0.79 inch.
- Suitable floors: floor tiles, hard linoleum, cast floor. Unsuitable floors: soft, unsealed, or defective flooring; soft wood; soft and porous artificial stone; carpets with lining; soft linoleum.
- Castor functions are controlled by two double-way pedal brakes:
- Backward: Three castors locked.
- Horizontally: All castors free, spinning around their axle.
- Forward: Right castor locked in forward direction, other castors free, spinning around their axle.
- For transport between hospitals, lift the back to approx. 30°, fold down protection elements, turn leg rests to initial position (parallel with PD), slide in leg holders, bring PD to parking position, bring hand holders to initial position, tilt infusion stand holder to initial position. Bring the table to the upper position to remove covers. Load, brake, and tie down the bed in the transport car.
Maintenance Features
General Maintenance:
- Follow instructions carefully; non-observance may lead to injury or damage.
- Use the bed exclusively in perfect working order; check functions daily or at each shift change.
- Use only original parts and accessories.
- Maintenance and installation must be performed by qualified, manufacturer-trained personnel.
- The technical lifetime of the product is 15 years.
- Batteries have a warranty of 6 months and need replacement when depleted (below 12V for a single battery or 24V for two cells). Full recharge takes 8 hours.
- Gas springs need replacement every 12 years.
- Timely lubrication prevents costly repairs due to degreasing of screws or frame joins by disinfectants.
Cleaning and Disinfection:
- Warning: Be extremely cautious when cleaning chassis parts. Always disconnect from power supply. Do not use without a properly fitted plastic chassis cover. Inadequate water may damage electric wiring.
- Clean the whole bed with regular disinfecting solutions, covering upholstery. Do not use automated cleaning or disinfection methods.
- For basic cleaning, use a soft cloth and a mild solution of an alkali multi-purpose cleaner.
- For disinfection, use standard preparations (quaternary ammonia compounds, aldehyde preparations, peroxy-compounds, preparations with active chlorine).
- Do not use abrasive washing aids or ketone-based solvents.
- Ensure proper wiring and render the product not functional.
- Perform proper cleaning according to hygienic standards of medical facilities.
- Put upholstery on dry bed areas only.
- When cleaning, place the footrest upholstery on the flat side.
- The chassis plastic cover can be lifted for easier hygiene maintenance. Lift the bed to its highest position, disconnect power, then lift and clean the left and right chassis covers. Ensure not to interfere with electronics. Re-fit the right cover first, then the left.
- LINET is not responsible for damage to cushioning (cracking, paint flaking) resulting from improper use of disinfectants.
- Prior to every use: Clean and disinfect; always put clean sheets.

- Bed not responding to controller commands:

- Operator action: Plug in power supply cord (full recharge takes 8 hours).
- Service action: Check electric network and socket function; try another socket.
- Hand controller or some buttons not working:
- Likely cause: Hand controller cable not properly inserted.
- Operator action: Ensure cable is properly inserted.
- Service action: Check with another hand controller; if it works, replace the original hand controller.
Warranty:
- Covered by a 24-month warranty from the date of purchase, covering material and manufacturing-related failures. Failures due to incorrect use or external effects are not covered. Proof of purchase is required for service.
- Extended warranty does not cover batteries (6 months warranty).
- If a serious defect arises that cannot be repaired, do not continue to use the bed.
- For repairs, use only original LINET spare parts and services of trained technicians. Unprofessional repairs void the warranty.
