9.1 Collapsible Siderails
The collapsible siderails are components of the bed in contact with patient.
The nursing personnel are responsible for the siderails being raised up while the patient is in bed.
WARNING!
Risk of injury due to incorrectly latched siderail!
Ensure that siderail is secured in the upper position or folded down to the lowest position.
WARNING!
Risk of injury due to incorrect position of siderails!
Ensure that siderails are folded up while the patient is in bed.
WARNING!
Risk of injury due to incorrect manipulation with siderails!
Ensure that there is no body part between siderail bars during folding siderail down.
SIDERAIL DESCRIPTION
MANIPULATION
To raise siderail up:
Grab siderail by Siderail Handle (1).
Pull siderail up until it latches.
To release siderail down:
Unlock siderail by pulling Siderail Release Mechanism (2 or 3) at Foot End or at Head End.
Fold down siderail slowly.
NOTE Siderail Release Mechanisms are connected. Pulling Siderail Release Mechanism at Foot End means pulling
Siderail Release Mechanism at Head End and pulling Siderail Release Mechanism at Head End means pulling
Siderail Release Mechanism at Foot End at the same time.
