Chapter 3 Installation and Wiring
XBC E-Type Main Unit 3-21 Ver. 1
3.6.8 Ground Wiring
1. The PLC contains noise suppression, so it can be used without any separate grounding if there
is a large amount of noise. However, if grounding is required, please refer to the following.
2. For grounding, please make sure to use exclusive grounding (preferred method in the figure
below). For grounding construction, apply type 3 grounding (grounding resistance lower than
100 Ω)
3. If exclusive grounding is not possible, use common grounding as presented in the “Acceptable
Method” of the figure below.
4. Use a grounding cable 16AWG (2mm
2
) or larger. Place the grounding point as close to the PLC
as possible.
5. If any malfunction from grounding is detected, separate the terminal PE of the base unit from the
grounding.
