Disposing of operating materials
Operating materials are consumed during operation of the MT.
If they are not disposed of properly, they can cause harm to
the environment.
These include the following:
z Used oil
z Hydraulic oils
z Filter cartridges and inserts and drying agent inserts
z Paper filter cartridges
z Coolants
z Refrigerants
z Vehicle batteries
z Maintenance and cleaning agents
The following sections provide information on
environmentally safe disposal of the various operating
materials.
Used oils
Used oil needs to be taken care of when motor or transmission
oil is changed.
Used oil belongs to the water-endangering materials.
Therefore, special requirements are valid concerning handling
and disposal.
z Make especially sure that no used oil can get into the
sewer system or in the earth.
z Utilize secure collection containers when the oil is drained.
z Remove spilled oil immediately with suitable binding
agents.
z Collect the used oil exclusively in used oil collecting
containers.
Do not mix with other operating materials.
z Deposit the used oil collecting containers at a collection
point for used oil processing.
z Observe the regulations of the local authorities.
