Fuels
Cleanliness during refuelling
When refuelling and working on the fuel system, maintain
cleanliness. Dirt or water in the fuel system can cause damage
to the fuel pump and the injection system.
Specification of the fuels
Use only commercially available diesel fuel with a sulphur
content below 0.5 weight per cent.
The oil change intervals change for higher sulphur
content in the diesel fuel. Observe the maintenance
intervals prescribed in the documentation of the motor
manufacturer.
z Only fuels according to DIN EN 590 with nationally
adapted environmental and cold requirements may be
used. If other fuels are used that do not meet these
standards, then the warranty becomes void.
z Kerosene, heating oils, and marine diesel fuels may under
no circumstances be used as fuel for the diesel motor.
z Not every diesel motor is suitable for running on biodiesel.
Contact the motor manufacturer first whether operation
with biodiesel is possible.
If your MT is equipped with a particulate filter, then also
observe the specifications of the manufacturer of the
particulate filter.
Use of fuels that do not meet the DIN EN 590
specifications require the authorisation by the motor
manufacturer.
