MAINTENANCE WORK
HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
82 Maintenance manual T225/T230
Hydraulic system
A hydraulic pump, which is flange-mounted on the
transmission housing, builds up pressure in the hydraulic
system. Oil is conveyed through valves, lines, and hoses to
the hydraulic cylinders.
The following components are powered by the MT's hydraulics
system:
z Fifth wheel
z Steering axle
The hydraulics diagrams are always separately
supplied.
WARNING!
Danger of injury!
When working on the hydraulic system, there is a
danger of injury from hydraulic oil spraying out
suddenly at high pressure.
X Make sure that the hydraulic system is
depressurised.
X Carry out the maintenance only on the depressurised
hydraulic system.
X Make sure that the engine cannot be switched on.
Checking the hydraulic oil level
The hydraulic oil tank is located on the vehicle's right side. To
check the oil level, you need to lower the fifth wheel
completely.

Use hydraulic oil of the same specifications, see “Oils” on
page 105.
