Compressed air system
The compressor sucks air through the intake line of the motor
and compresses it. The compressed air produced is stored in
the compressed air tanks. The pressure regulator limits the
system pressure to about 9.5 bar.
The following components are powered by the MT's
compressed air system:
z Brake system
z Release of the fifth wheel coupling
z Air suspension of the rear axle
z Air suspension of driver's seat

Carry out a visual inspection of the compressor. Check for
leaks.
X Check the compressed air line, intake line, and the
connections for leaks. Look for fractures, nicks, and
deformations.
Have defective lines replaced by qualified technicians.

Check the hose for leaks, and damage, such as nicks and
abrasion.
X Replace the intake line in case of damage.
X Tighten loose fastenings on the compressor side and intake
side.
X Replace loose mountings along the intake line.
