MAINTENANCE WORK
DRIVE TRAIN
66 Maintenance manual T225/T230
Drive train
The individual components of the drive train (torque converter,
power shift gears, differential transmission of the axle, wheel
hub gears) transfer the motor power to the wheels.
Only the rear axle (4x2) is driven.
Lubricating the front axle
The brake shaft bearings and the bottom steering knuckle
connections must always be lubricated manually even when
there is a built-in central lubrication system. Lubricating points
and lubricating cycle, see section “Lubricating points” on
page 38.
Always observe lubricant specifications in the
documentation of the manufacturer for the front axle.
