Coolant
The blue-green coolant concentrate is to be used for your
MT's cooling system.
Mixing concentrated coolants of another type can
inhibit the corrosion protection. Motor damage can
result.
Use only the coolant tested and authorised by the
motor manufacturer. Information on this can be found
in the Operating Media Specifications of the motor
manufacturer.
In our plant, the cooling system is filled with a mixture of tap
water and concentrated coolant with anti-freeze protection to
-25 °C.
If the MT is driven at temperatures below -25 °C, increase the
anti-freeze protection according to the following table:
The system should be thoroughly flushed with each changing
of the coolant, see “Changing coolant” on page 55.
In cases in which no anti-freeze is needed, for
example in the tropics, a coolant additive without anti-
freeze requirements should be employed. For more
details, refer to the specifications of the engine
manufacturer.
