Air pressure in the air suspension bellows is automatically
adjusted for the load by a regulator valve. At a coupled load of
about 14 t, the air suspension bellows is compressed so far
that the frame lies solidly on the axle. At this load the
suspension is without effect.
Checking air suspension bellows
X Check the air suspension bellows for signs of external wear,
soiling, and ageing.
X Check and dewater the compressed air tank, see
“Compressed air system” on page 77.
