Wheels and tyres
The condition of the wheels and tyres is of great importance
for the operational safety of the MT.
WARNING!
Accident hazard!
Improperly carried out work on the wheels and tyres
restricts the operational safety of the MT and can
cause serious accidents with personal injury.
X Have repair work on wheels and tyres performed by
qualified technicians only.
Checking the tightening torques

X Be sure to retighten all wheel nuts with the specified
tightening torque before the initial operation and after the
wheel exchange.
X Retighten the torque of the wheel nuts after the first drive
under load, at the latest though after 24 operating hours.
X Tighten wheel nuts crosswise, see Fig. 59.
Make sure tightening torques for the wheel nuts are correct.
Use a torque wrench for retightening the wheel nuts.

The tightening torque for the wheel nuts is inscribed on the
“Tightening torque” warning sign.
Mind the types of the wheel nuts because the height of
the tightening torque is dependent on the type of wheel
nuts.
