Replacing air dryer cartridge

The air dryer serves to withdraw the moisture from the
compressed air. This is done by directing all the compressed
air through a cartridge filled with drying agent. The drying
agent has the capacity to absorb the moisture.
We recommend changing the air dryer cartridge at least
once a year.
WARNING!
Danger of injury!
When working on compressed air systems there is a
risk of injury from suddenly emitted compressed air.
X Make sure that the compressed air system is
depressurised.
X Carry out the maintenance only on depressurised
systems.
X Make sure that the engine cannot be switched on.
X Park the MT on level ground.
X Stop the engine and withdraw the ignition key.
X Release the pressure from the compressed air system
(all circuits).
X Tilt the cabin, see “Tilting driver's cab” on page 44.
X Unscrew the safety bolt.
The safety bolt secures the air dryer cartridge against
loosening. This feature is available only on certain models.
X Unscrew the air dryer cartridge by turning it to the left.
X Screw the new air dryer cartridge on and tighten the air
dryer cartridge by hand.
X Screw in the safety bolt (if available).
