3.1.2.3ExternalBatteryConfiguration
Batteriesshouldbemountedinanenvironmentwherethetemperature is consistent and
evenoverthe whole battery.Temperatureis a majorfactorindeterminingthebatterylife
and capacity. The recommended operating temperature for batteries by battery
manufacturersis20‐25°C.Operatingabovethisrangewillreduce the battery life while
operationbelowthisrangewillreducethebatterycapacity.Therefore,theexpectedbackup
timewillnotbeobtainedwhileautonomy.Asaresult,keepbatteriesawayfromheatsources
andmainairinlets.Payattentionandobservethefollowingpoints.
Keepbatteriesawayfrommainheatsources.
Keepbatteriesawayfrommainairinlets.
Keepbatteriesawayfromthehumid places.Hereby batteries can bepreventedfrom
terminaloxidationsandpossibleleakagecurrents.
PleaseuseaRorgRsemi‐conductortypefuseatthebatteryroomsandcabinets.
Ifitispossible,pleaseusebreakerswitchwithoutfuseforthebateerycabinet.
Keepbatterycabinetsandshelveshighabovetheground.UPSshould be protected
againstfloodsorliquidcontacts.
Batteryroomsshouldbeproperlyventilated.
Shelveswillbeaccessibleintouchifbatteriesareinbatteryroom.Thereforepleasekeep
restrictedaccessingtobatteryroom.Usenecessarysafetywritingsandstrips
Espacially, for the external cabinet batteries system of UPS, fuses must definitely be used.
These fuses must be mounted as close as possible to the batteries. This closeness will
increasetheelectricaloperationsafety.
