2.4 Connecting Separate Track
Circuits
If you want to control several locomotives
independently of each other, then you
must divide your layout into several power
areas, that are each supplied with power
with their own power packs.
At the transitions between these power
areas both rails must be electrically sepa-
rated from one another with the 8954
insulated rail joiners.
Important: Make sure that the red feeder
wire from power pack 1 is connected to
the same side of the track as the red wire
for power pack 2 in another power area,
etc. This will ensure trouble-free transi-
tions by a locomotive or train from one
area to the other over the insulated rail
joints.
